Doris Silsbee, 83,

formerly of Canisteo,

 died January 28th at Hornell Gardens. 

The native and life-long Canisteo resident had been employed as cafeteria manager for the Canisteo School District for 28 years, retiring in 1990.  

She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Silsbee, who died in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Stewart; her son, Dr. Michael Silsbee; a brother, Dale Loper; plus grand and great grandchildren. 

Calling hours at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Canisteo are Tuesday, January 31 from 7-9PM.  Funeral services  are planned for 11AM Wednesday at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church.
