Some Think Paterson Should Resign Now

Calls for resignation follow governor's decison not to seek election

Some voices are calling on Gov. David Paterson to resign now so that the state, which faces an historical budget deficit, can have a new face at the helm.  Chris Cox, a Long Island Republican running for congress and son of the GOP state chairman, says Paterson has suffered so much public damage that he will not be able to govern effectively.

Congressman Eric Massa (D-NY) said on WLEA that resignation should be considered but declined to call on Paterson to step down until he has had time to study all the facts of the case.  Massa represents the 29th district.
