Fred Dicker reports Cuomo supporters think Paterson will "melt down"

Sometime in April Attorney General Andrew Cuomo will announce that he is a candidate for governor----so says Fred Dicker in the New York Post.  Dicker, considered the top Albany reporter, has been talking to friends of Cuomo and they believe that Gov. David Paterson is in deep trouble now that Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is opposing him.

That opposition will lead, they believe, to delays in budget adoption which is always a cause of scandal in Albany.  Last week, Silver called for an investigation into Paterson's dealings with the Aqueduct race track--a sure sign that Silver wants Paterson out of the race.  Cuomo leads Paterson in all polls among Democrats and is believed to be a more formidable candidate.
