STATE COMPTROLLER SAYS NOT ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS USE TAX MONEY WISELY
State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's office has found $880 million dollars held unnecessarily or used in questionable ways by school districts in New York State. This is based on 733 audits done on districts and BOCES offices between 2005 and this year.
"Taxpayers have a right to know if the school districts are managing their (tax) money the right way and we found that a majority are," said DiNapoli.
