Walter M. Ball, 81,
of Thacher Street Ext., Hornell,
passed away unexpectedly Monday (Nov. 26, 2012) at his home.
Born in Hornell on Oct. 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Walter M. and Amelia Helen Davison Ball.
A graduate of Hornell High School, Walter proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hornet from 1952 to his honorable discharge in 1956.
He received his bachelor’s degree and was employed as a teacher for the Forsyth County (Georgia) School District. After returning to Hornell he was employed as a substitute teacher for the Hornell City School District.
His family includes his sister, Lois B. (James) Dunn of Sherrill; as well as many nieces and nephews.
To honor his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell at the convenience of his family.
