Village Elections Are Today

Village elections are going on today. In North Hornell, there are two trustee seats open and five candidates are going for those two seats. Republicans Joe Dick and Peter Dirmundo are seeking re-election, and Democrat Bill Coleman and two Independent candidates, Maureen Broughton and Eric Warner, are hoping to win the open seats.


In Canisteo, Mayor Bill Tucker is seeking re-election unopposed, also village trustees Tom Mayo and Jack Beers are both seeking re-election, and they’re also unopposed. Both Tucker and Mayo are on the Democrat and Republican tickets, and Beers is Republican ticket only.


In Arkport, there are two unopposed races, Republicans Michael Brewer and Ezra Geist are seeking trustee seats. Brewer is already on the board, Geist is going for Steve Jewell’s seat. Jewell was appointed to take the place of Jeff Bossie, and Geist is seeking the Jewell seat.


In Almond, there are two trustees seeking re-election: Dennis George and John Meehan. Both are running unopposed.
In Canaseraga, running for mayor is Mayor Robert Ames (Concerned Citizens Party) Democrat Melinda Swain. There are two trustee seats: Denise Spike (D) and Arlene Maker (D) and Lance Shay (the incumbent – concerned citizens party).
