State Labor Department Releases November 2012 Area Unemployment Rates
Slightly down in Steuben County, no change for Allegany and Livingston Counties
In Steuben County, the unemployment rate in November was 9.1 percent, down from 9.3 percent in October, but still 0.4 percent higher than it was in November, 2011.
The unemployment rate for Allegany County was unchanged from last month, when it was 7.6 percent.
And the unemployment rate for Livingston County was 7.1 percent, also unchanged from the month before.
Yates County has one of the state's lowest unemployment rates, at 6.4 percent in November.
The highest unemployment rate in the state, outside of New York City, was in eastern New York's Hamilton County, at 10.5 percent. The highest rate was in Bronx County, at 11.8 percent.
