HORNELL, NY - Steuben County Legislator Randy Weaver (D, Hornell) announced this morning that he is going to run for New York State Assembly.
Weaver says he will make another announcement about the race on Wednesday, June 27, in Dansville.
The Hornell Democrat, who has no known opposition from his own party, will face either conservative talk show host Bill Nojay (R, Pittsford) or former Avon Mayor Richard Burke (R, Livingston County). The two Republicans have a primary scheduled for September 13.
Weaver made the announcement during Brian O'Neil's weekend show, "Connections".
