Hornell native appeared on CBS show Saturday night

Hornell native Carl Marino was the subject of an entire episode of a 48 hours Mystery on Saturday night TV on CBS. Marino, an addition to acting, did undercover work in exposing corrupt law enforcement officers in California, and is making major news nationwide for his investigative work.

Here's an excerpt from the show:

Reporter: “In his old life as a cop, Marino says he spent his entire career fighting drugs, and turning in Butler and Welsh, was simply the right thing to do.”

Marino: “It definitely had a lot to do with the cop in me also, literally it was that day when I first saw those drugs that I knew I was going to do something about it. I had no idea what it was, what I was going to do, or how I was going to do it. But knowing where those drugs came from, I knew something had to be done.”

According to Marino, the suspects he was investigating would have violently turned on him if they’d figured out that he was going after their corruption.

Reporter: Is it too dramatic to ask if you were afraid for your life?”

Marino: “If those guys had found out what I was doing, there was no doubt in my mind, that they would have killed me.”
