Rochester man killed following a high speed chase
State Police say a 25 year old Rochester man stole a vehicle in Rochester, then abandoned it at a gas station in Canastota where he stole another vehicle.
At that point, Thruway State Police were alerted to the stolen vehicle and began a pursuit. Police say the driver attempted to exit the Thruway at Exit 23 in Albany. Troopers say he was traveling too fast and the vehicle skidded off the ramp and into trees.
The operator was killed on impact.
