The 62 year old was the operator of a bus that accidentally dragged a student

The Dansville Central School bus driver who inadvertently dragged an 8 year old student when her backpack got stuck in the bus door a week ago, has resigned.

The 62 year old driver admitted to police that he was distracted when he dropped off the 8 year old girl and her two sisters on Route 436 in the Town of Ossian, and then began to drive off, not realizing that the girl's backpack was stuck in the door.

State Police say no charges will be filed as no laws were violated.
