Hogan: Zeller Will Likely Run Again
Mayor Hogan Predicting That Zeller Will Make Another Run For Congress
Mayor Shawn Hogan (D, Hornell) who is also the Steuben County Democratic Chairman, tells WLEA News that Matt Zeller (D, Victor) will probably run for the House of Representatives again, when election time comes in two years. "Well, I don't think there's any doubt, that if he's in the district, and he's in a position to run, that he probably will run." Hogan noted that Zeller's biggest successs in the November 2nd election was in Steuben County and neighboring counties of the 29th congressional district. "He actually ran better in the southern tier counties and gave Reed more of a run in the southern tier counties than Massa ever did," Hogan said.
Zeller, an veteran of the Afghanistan War and a former CIA agent, was defeated by former Corning Mayor Tom Reed (R, Steuben County) in the recent race for Congress. Reed is now filling out the end of the Eric Massa term. Reed will begin his own first term in January. On November 2nd, Reed was elected in two different elections, once for the special election to determine who would serve the end of the Massa term in Congress, and once for Reed's own two-year term for the 111th Congress.
