Accusations of misappropriating funds and other charges

A former Bath area funeral home director has been indicted by a Steuben County Grand Jury.

According to reports, David Seager, 73, was indicted on several counts of third and fourth degree grand larceny, also charges of scheming to defraud, petit larceny and misappropriation of funds.

Seager is accused of taking money from people who had pre-paid for funeral expenses and mis-using the funds, including allegedly transferring money into an account for his personal use.

No arraignment date has been set.

Seager also faces charges for improper storage of bodies and cremated remains.

He formerly owned funeral homes in Bath and Savona.

What a nice person he is.......misplacing bodies is one thing.....sometimes people get lost in the shuffle, that was bad but not horrible, but taking advantage of people in their most difficult and vulnerable time? Absolutely no excuse for it. He should be buried in an ant hill up to his neck. Some people are just plain awful, and apparently he is one of them.
