Arrests follow a tip to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office

An ongoing investigation into the unlawful growing of marijuana has resulted in the arrest of two Bath residents on Wednesday.

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies say they approached a residence on State Route 415 in the Town of Bath that had been reported to the Sheriff's Office as a possible location of the illegal activity. A Consent to Search was obtained by investigators and a search of the property turned up 15 marijuana plants, as well as equipment used for the processing of marijuana and marijuana smoking devices.

Deputies then arrested Manuel Davis, Jr., 54, and Brian Witherell, 28, both of the State Route 415 address. Both are charged with Growing of the Plant Known as Cannabis without a License. They were issued apppearance tickets.
