Former Bolivar man arrested in South Carolina

A lengthy investigation into the illegal sales of prescription narcotics in the village of Bolivar has resulted in an arrest.

The Allegany County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Thomas Smith, 28, of South Carolina, formerly of Bolivar, is charged with several counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Smith was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice by the Spartanburg, SC, Sheriff's Office and was extradited back to Allegany County. He was arraigned and remanded to Allegany County jail on $25,000 bail.
