More Than 30 County Workers Expected To Take Early Retirement
That would save Steuben County over $2-million
A number of Steuben County employees have taken advantage of early retirement incentives, resulting in an estimated savings of more than $2-million for the county.
According to reports, 34 county workers, including four department heads, are expected to retire this year. County Administrator Mark Alger says those department heads are working with their staff in preparation for the change, and officals hope to promote from within each of those departments where possible. Alger said that would help with continuity and create cost-saving vacancies in each program.
Alger went on to say that more county employees may also take advantage of retirement incentives this year.
