Larry Vetter Retires from Hornell Housing Authority
Search underway for a replacement
John Murawski, Chairman of the City of Hornell Housing Authority, has announced the resignation of Larry Vetter, Executive Director. Murawski says this for the purpose of Vetter's retirement.
Vetter has served in the position since his appointment in December of 1978. Vetter had worked at the U. S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development, Washington, D.C., and the Elmira Housing Authority, Elmira, N.Y, prior to coming to Hornell.
“For thirty-one years, Larry Vetter has served the City of Hornell and its residents as the Executive Director of the Hornell Housing Authority. Thanks to Larry’s hard work and innovation, thousands of residents received the opportunity to reside in quality affordable housing. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Larry for his decades of commitment to Hornell and the Housing Authority. This City is a better, more livable place thanks to leadership and vision. We wish him well and hope he enjoys his well deserved retirement,” Murawski said in making the announcement.
The Housing Authority will begin a search for Mr. Vetter’s replacement. Vetter will serve as the Acting Director until a successor is appointed.
