Accused of filing false claims

A man has been arrested in Livingston County for allegedly receiving unemployment benefits fraudulently.

State Police at Geneseo have charged Brandon Keeley, 24, of Sayville, with Grand Larceny, Falsifying Business Records and Offering a False Instrument for Filing.

Troopers say the charges stem from an investigation by the New York State Department of Labor and the New York State Police where Keeley was discovered to have received unemployment benefits totaling $4601 between April and August of 2009, by filing false claims.

Keeley was arraigned and sent to Livingston County Jail in lieu of $4600 bail.
