DRUG CHARGES - TWICE - FOR BATH MAN
The 51 year old now in Livingston County Jail
A traffic stop in the town of Geneseo has resulted in a series of drug charges for a Bath man.
Livingston County Sheriff's deputies say Colin Medas, 51, was found to be using and in possession of heroin and was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th degree and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned and remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $1500 cash bail.
While Medas was taken to the jail by deputies, he was told that bringing contraband into a jail facility would further his criminal charges. He denied possessing any illegal items; however, when booked into the jail he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree and Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, both Class D Felonies. Medas was then arraigned on those charges and remanded to jail on $3500 cash bail.
