20-year-old Nathan Pierpont of 118 Carriage Drive in Campbell is in the Steuben County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail after being charged with repeated shakings of a baby whose identity has not been released.

The child was taken to Corning Hospital and later transferred to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. where the condition is listed as critical but stable. Pierpont was charged with reckless assault of a child.
