Governor David A. Paterson issued the following statement regarding the anniversary of the crash of Continental flight 3407:

"A year ago today, Western New York suffered the devastating loss of mothers, fathers, friends and neighbors. But the loss of those fifty individuals left an indelible mark on all New Yorkers. Though we pause today to honor their lives, we know that they are forever with us; by knowing them, we are forever changed.

"I stood with you a year ago as the unbearable reality of loss set in, and I will continue to stand with you as the healing continues. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I extend my deepest sympathies to everyone touched by the loss of Continental flight 3407. Though nothing can take away the pain of your loss, know that the thoughts of all New Yorkers are with you today."
