ARSON CHARGES IN COHOCTON
Motel resident accused of starting fire
Investigation into a fire at the White Deer Motel in Cohocton has resulted in arson charges. State Police say Douglas Cotton, 45, a former resident of the motel, was accused of setting the fire, causing minor damage to the basement area.
Troopers say that during the investigation, Cotton had made admissions that contradicted the physical evidence. He was subsequently charged with 4th degree arson.
Cotton was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail, without bail, to return to court at a later date.
