STATE BUDGET DEFICIT INCREASING

Governor says it'll be over $8-billion

Governor David Paterson has announced that the state budget deficit will grow to $8.2-billion. 

According to a report in the Albany Times Union, the additional $750-million shortfall is attributed to a recessionary slowdown in income tax revenue and an explosion in Medicaid costs.
