Update: Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher Wed
As we reported on Friday, Carrie Underwood and Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher tied the knot Saturday afternoon under a tent on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation, an upscale resort near the Oconee National Forest in Greensboro, Georgia. Underwood and Fisher were married in front of 250 friends and family. The ceremony included their favorite Bible readings and classical music. Guests were not told their destination until they boarded flights to Georgia, and the entire resort was booked for the wedding. Some reports estimate the total cost of the wedding at $500,000. Underwood and Fisher, a center for the Ottawa Senators, said they planned to reside in Nashville and Peterborough, Ontario.

There are some great clips of a young Merle before music became his life, as well as footage of him singing some of his best-known songs, including “Okie From Muskogee” and “Workin’ Man Blues.”
Paisley Still Practices
Just because he's Brad Paisley, doesn't mean he doesn't still make time to work on his craft. Brad shares with All Access, "Practicing now goes hand in hand with writing and work with me. We have sound check at 2 in the afternoon, the band and I." Paisley explains, "And, really what we do is we play old Ricky Skaggs songs, but practicing is more like, it's just second nature, more like walking and I'm practicing when you see me in concert, there's no doubt about it I'm practicing up there."
Flatts Dueting With…Demi?
Disney star Demi Lovato is hoping to do a duet with Rascal Flatts. The Sonny With A Chance star Tweeted last week, "Unstoppable - Rascal Flatts.. Can't stop listening to them... you rascals, wanna do a duet? :)" Lovato may get her wish considering that Flatts are signed with Disney; Demi's record label is Disney subsidiary Hollywood Records.
LeAnn Rimes is pumped about her upcoming album, Lady and Gentlemen, a country covers album produced by her buddy, Vince Gill. Rimes shares with cmt.com, "It's cool that there is this buzz about it, so I can't wait for people to hear it and see that it's as good as they're thinking it's going to be. And I say that as humbly as possible because I think it's such a great record. People don't make records like this anymore."
LeAnn reveals her father's reaction, the first time she played her new CD for him, saying, "He just heard it the other day and he cried. He's so proud of it. My dad is so hardcore when it comes to loving old-school country. If I didn't offend him with anything we've changed, hopefully no one else will be. I mean, I got it past my biggest critic and he loves it, so that's cool. I'm really excited about that." She adds about her choice to record remakes, "My dad was the one who raised me on that country music. I listened to a lot of those types of men that he grew up on. Patsy Cline was the only female that I remember listening to over and over again. Otherwise, it was Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson and Hank Williams. I think it was my dad who turned me to the light." Lady and Gentlemen is scheduled to hit stores on October 5. Prior to that, on September 30, you can get it on vinyl.
Lee Brice's debut single, "Love Like Crazy," has been climbing the country charts. Even though this is a tune that Brice didn't pen himself, he couldn't be happier to have it on his album. Lee shares withtodayscountrymag.com, "The song is a great love story that is about a couple that has been together for 60 years and I didn't write it, my producer wrote the song. He just told me he wrote this song and was going to demo it and that he thought it would get cut immediately because he thinks it is a smash. He then told me that if I wanted it I could have it because I was the first priority. I walked in and five minutes later I was in love with the song and knew it was a smash hit. Now it is just up to us to make it a hit and so far it is working for us." After having paid his dues in the music biz, what career advice does Brice have for aspiring country artists? He shares, "If you want to have a career in this it is simple, you have to be here in Nashville where the music is and be where the people are that make the music and write the music. It's not that hard either because it is small town and a small community." He explains, "You make one friend and then from that friend another and the next thing you know is that you know everybody in Nashville and you've got a shot. Bring your talent here and work hard, don't just dream."
Justin Moore doesn't take for granted the happy home he grew up in, with parents who have been married for over 30 years. Justin reveals to AOL's The Boot, "I'm very lucky. I have a great set of parents. It's obvious in my music that my family means a lot to me, and how I grew up means a lot to me." Moore and his wife, Kate, plan on instilling those good values in their five-month-old little girl, Ella Kole. Justin shares, "Hopefully Ella will feel the same way about me and Kate someday, that she's got great parents and that family is extremely important. I get my morals from my mom and dad. I was at church every Sunday growing up. I still try to abide by that, although it's not always easy." So what if Ella wants to take guitar lessons one day? Moore quips, "I'm sure she'll get a couple of guitars if she wants them!"
